Kimiko Date Krumm Sparkling Middle Aged Player at Wimbledon 2011: Latest by Tennis news that Kimiko Date Krumm  retired 1996 and came back 2008 as a PRO at 37-year-old. Kimiko Date Krumm, now 40 years old Japanese woman tennis player, matched against Venus Williams, 31, five times Wimbledon champion, and WTA best ranking 2 (now 30) on the center court of Wimbledon yesterday.

Kumiko lost her second match with Venus: the score 7-6 3-6, 6-8 after 2h56m. The memorable victory on June 20 was her first winning after 15 years since 1996 at Wimbledon and it was the 2nd eldest woman player’s triumph after Martina NavratilovaMartina Navratilova at 47-year-old in Wimbledon history.

She wrote in her own blog that it was her best play ever this year so far, and could enjoy the match with Venus. Of course the defeat itself was not pleasant but she said Venus proved what she was. She continued that she did what she could and was happy about the result.
