Qamar, Asif record wins in National snooker: Youth prevailed over experience on the opening day of the 36th NJI National Snooker Championship 2011 which commenced here at the Karachi Gymkhana’s Billiards Hall on Monday.
Imran Qamar and Mohammad Asif, two of the most promising youngsters from Punjab, prevailed over Mohammad Yousuf and Khurram Agha respectively to warn the seasoned campaigners about the impending dangers.
Both the encounters went to the full distance of seven frames and it went to the credit of the youngsters to have overcome the veterans after being engaged in a marathon duel.
Defending champion Mohammad Sajjad got off to a winning start as did last year’s runner-up Asjad Iqbal. Both these talented cueists from Sargodha didnít waste time in settling down in the settings of Karachi Gymkhana.
