David Haye may fight Vitali Klitschko: David Haye will not get a rematch against Wladimir Klitschko, but may be offered a title fight against Vitali Klitschko. Wladimir, who also holds the IBF, WBO and IBO belts, beat Haye by unanimous decision, adding Haye’s title to his collection. His elder brother is set to defend his WBC title against Tomasz Adamek in Wroclaw, Poland, on September 10. That means Haye may be offered a bout against Vitali late this year at the earliest.

“There’s no chance of a rematch,” Wlamimir’s manager, Bernd Boente, has told the BBC. “Wladimir will now move on, but Vitali has mentioned he would be interested in knocking Haye out. “The fight could happen later this year or at the beginning of next year.”

Haye has said he will decide his future soon. He initially insisted he would retire before his 31st birthday on October 13. “My cut-off date is in three months, which in boxing terms is not a long time,” he said, having blamed a broken toe for his defeat.

“Losing wasn’t part of my plan, so I must sit down and have a think about what I will do next. I would be disappointed to finish with a loss.” Boente has said Hamburg-based Wladimir is interested in fighting the winner of the heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora, who clash for the British and Commonwealth titles on July 23 at Wembley Arena.

Klitschko has twice pulled out of a title defence against Chisora. Haye says he expects some back-lash from the British media after two years of trash-talking and calling the brothers Klitschko names.
