Pakistan, India Golfers Play three-day event. The Indian golfers touring Lahore had an intense practice round at the Royal Palm Golf Course here on Thursday as part of preparations for the three-day contest commencing from Friday.
Also, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Delhi Golf Club and its Pakistani counterpart. The MoU was signed by Delhi Golf Club president Manmohan Sing and Shoaib Bokhari.
As per the MoU, teams from both the countries will exchange visits every six months on alternate basis.
Endorsing views expressed by Manmohan, Asad I. A. Khan of the Sindh Golf Association and member executive committee of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) said that golf clubs in Karachi should also immediately respond.
Only two ladies — Asma Shami (Pakistan) and Bubbles Suneja (India) — are participating in the event.
Asma is a lady member of the executive committee of the PGF while Bubbles is the lady captain of the Delhi Golf Club. Both of them hoped regular visits of lady golfers will also take place.
It is pertinent to mention that the competition will be played on Scrambles match play basis on the first day.
