Real Madrid midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a four year sponsorship deal worth 24 million euros.
This means Ronaldo would get €6 million a year from the footwear giants.
Ronaldo is currently on a €4 million a year contract with Nike, but the company has upped the stakes in an attempt to keep rivals Adidas from capturing the superstar once his contract runs out.
If one adds the wages that the Portuguese earns from Real Madrid – about €13 million a season – it makes him the highest paid footballer on the planet – ahead of other stars like Kaka, Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney.
In addition to Nike, Ronaldo’s sponsorship committments include Giorgio Armani, Castrol and Clear Shmapoo.
