Gareth Bale has become the most expensive player in the history of football but this does not mean that he will not have to compete against others in order to get his place in the team. The assistant coach of Real Madrid Paul Clement told media that Gareth Bale is not guaranteed a starting place in the Real Madrid team even after his record fee transfer.
Gerath Bale used to play for Tottenham but after watching his abilities, one of the most famous football club in the world Real Madrid has signed him for a record fee of £85.3million. Previously this record was held by Bale’s new team member Cristiano Ronaldo, for whom Real Madrid paid £80million fee to move from Manchester United in 2009.
“Gareth Bale is not guaranteed a start at Real Madrid”
Gareth Bale was named PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year in the last season but still he is not guaranteed a start at Real Madrid as Paul Clement said: “There’s a lot of competition for places and no one will be guaranteed anything, Coach Carlo Ancelotti has a clear idea how to use him but things can change.”
While talking about the Bale’s playing position in the team he said that “Carlo is flexible enough to use Gareth and other players in different ways. At Southampton, Bale used to play at left-back which he also did at Spurs where he became a more left-sided player. He recently became more central. Gareth Bale has got that versatility. It’ll be interesting to see how players fit in together.”
Gareth Bale is expected to play his first match from Real Madrid side against Villarreal in 14th September in La Liga but as the assistant coach said there is no guarantee for it. The Real Madrid fans are desperate to see Gareth Bale play along-side Cristiano Ronaldo but they will have to wait till the right moment.
