David Haye wants Wladimir Klitschko rematch or he will retire | Haye wants wladimir rematch fight before his retirement
David Haye wants Wladimir Klitschko rematch or he will retire: David Haye will only postpone retirement if he can have a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, who took his WBA heavyweight belt from him on a unanimous decision last week in Hamburg.
Haye has continually stated that he will finish his career on 13 October, when he turns 31, and he said: “I definitely want to stick to my retirement plans, but when someone beats you, you feel gutted – I’m such a competitive person. I’m going to retire on 13 October but the only person I would break my retirement for is the guy who’s beaten me: Wladimir Klitschko.”
Asked if Klitschko’s elder brother, Vitali, the WBC champion, was an option Haye said: “I don’t know. I don’t have a beef with his brother. It’s Wladimir, Wladmir beat me.”
Klitschko is now the WBO, IBO, IBF, WBA and Ring magazine champion. If Haye cannot fight him again then he would realistically have only one more fight remaining before he retires in October.
