None of the any other batsman was able to stay on the wicket for a long time. Even the experienced batsman’s like Muhammad Hafeez, Younis khan and Asad Shafiq only scored 5,3 and 4 runs respectively. The Pakistan team captain Misbah-ul-Haq scored 53 runs and the middle order batsman Azhar Ali made 78 runs. Azhar Ali also completed his 2000 runs in the Test matches.
Pakistan was struggling at 182 runs for 8 wickets when Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan came to rescue their team from this situation and built an aggressive partnership of 67 runs to give their team a better chance to fight back in the match. From the Zimbabwean side, Chatara and Panyangara tool 3 wickets each. Masakadza and Utseya also kept the Pakistani batsmans under-pressure and both were able to take 2 wickets. The Pakistan-born Zimbabwean cricketer Sikander Raza also made his Test debut in this match.
