The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially released the updated Test rankings after the completion of 1st Test match between Pakistan and South Africa in UAE. After showing consistent match winning performances, the Pakistan national cricket team captain Misbah-ul-Haq has reached his career’s best ranking now. Misbah-ul-Haq is currently ranked at 7th position among the Test batsman’s while his team mate Younis Khan is still holding the sixth place.
Misbah ul Haq had played an important 100 and 28 runs innings in the first Test match against South Africa which has enbled him to climb-up 5 places in the rankings to 7th position. According to the new Test batsman rankings, Hashim Amla is still at the first poistion while after showing good performance in the Test match against Pakistan, AB de Villiers has moved to second place. Shivnarine Chanderpaul is at third, Kumar Sangakkara is at 4th while Michael Clarke is at 5th position.
Their has been no change in the Test bowlers ranking and the Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal still holds the fourth position in the rankings. The two South African bowlers Dale Steyn and vernon philander still hold the 1st and 2nd position in the rankings. In Test team rankings, Pakistan lost their 4th position after losing the Test match against Zimbabwe but have now regained their place after beating the world no.1 Test team South Africa but its official announcement will be made after the completion of 2nd test between the two teams.
