India same squad for 2nd Test against West Indies: India retain same squad for 2nd Test against Windies for a strong attack. India on Thursday named an unchanged team for the second test against West Indies, once again, leaving top side off Harbhajan Singh roulette from the side.
The selection committee met Thursday and decided to keep the side that beat the Caribbean for five rings in the opening event, which ended in four days on Wednesday with two spinners Pragyan Ojha R Ashwin and doing exceedingly well.
Ashwin, who will take a break to get married in Chennai on November 13, has been chosen for the test to start a day after their wedding in Kolkata Eden Gardens stadium.
The 25-year-old off-spinner became the third cricketer to get the man of the match award in his debut with his nine-wicket tour, which included six skulls in the second innings. Ojha was also a success, claiming seven windows, six of them coming in the first innings.
The good performance of the two effectively closes the door to Harbhajan, who has not done anything noteworthy in the Ranji Trophy as well. Harbhajan was initially dismissed from the ODI series against England last month before it shows the door of the test well.
