India beat West Indies in 3rd ODI to win Series by 2-1

The amazing winning streak of Indian cricket team in One Day International matches continues as they beat West Indies in the 3rd ODI at Green Park, Kanpur to register their sixth consecutive one day series victory. The West Indies cricket team had got off to a pretty good start with 168 runs in the boards in 35 overs after losing only 2 wickets. Although they lost 3 quick wickets after that but they were still able to set a target of 264 runs with the help of half-centuries by Kieran Powell, Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo.

Kieran Powell scored 70, Marlon Samuels 71 and Darren Bravo played an unbeaten 51 runs innings along with a pretty handy innings of 37 runs by Darren Sammy. In reply to this target, Indian cricket team had started their innings after losing the wicket of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kholi at the score of just 61 runs but the outstanding 129 runs partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh made sure that they take their team to a winning position.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 5th century of his career before he was caught & bowl by Darren Bravo. The left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh also played an important role in his team victory by scoring 55 runs. At the end, the captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Jadeja finished the match, giving India the victory by 5 wickets and 23 balls remaining. For his superb century, Shikhar Dhawan was awarded player of the match while Virat Kholi was named as the player of the series.
