KARACHI: Defending champions Sialkot Stallions and Lahore Lions have qualified for the semi-finals in the National Twenty20 Cup Championship.
In the first match played here at the National Stadium on Thursday, Lahore Lions after a hard fight defeated Multan Tigers by just two runs.
Batting first, Lahore Lions scored 166-7 in the allotted 20 overs with Umar Akmal being the top scorer making 64.
Mohammad Irfan and Zulfiqar Babar claimed three wickets each.
Chasisng 167 to win, Multan tigers could reach 164-7 in 20 overs. Kashif Naved top scored with 58 while Waqas Ahmed captured four wickets.
In the second match, Sialkot Stallions ousted Rawalpindi Rams by 17 runs in a high scoring game.
Sialkot Stallions batted first and made 197 runs for four wickets. Rana Naved-ul-Hasan smashed 95 from 57 balls.
In reply, Rawalpindi Rams could make 180 with Hammad Azam (36) top scored.
Today, Islamabad Leopards meet Faisalabad Wolves and Karachi Dolphins face Lahore Eagles.
