There was no such joy for former captain Mohammad Ashraful,who was replaced by Naeem Islam In the side.Khulna hosts the second and final Test from November 21.

Offspinner Sohag Gazi and medium-pacer Abul Hasan are the only uncapped players selected in Bangladesh’s squad for the first test against West Indies next week.

Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Zunaed Siddique, Shahriar Nafees, Naeem Islam, Nazimuddin, Nasir Hossain, Elias Sunny, Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan, Shohag Gazi.

Mushfiqur Rahim was retained as captain in the 14-player squad announced Thursday by selectors for the test, which starts Tuesday at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.Chief Selector Akram Khan says the 20-year-old Hasan played four Twenty20 internationals for Bangladesh this year and has a good record of taking wickets at domestic level.

The 21-year-old Gazi has never played an international for Bangladesh but he has been described by Khan as a “genuine” offspinner who could play a significant role against West Indies.

The two sides will contest two tests, five one-day Internationals and a Twenty20 match.
