CJ McKay made a Hat-trick against England during the fourth One Day International (ODI). McKay took the wickets of three top order batsman’s of England including Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott and Joe Root. This is the 33rd hat-trick in One Day Internationals (ODIs) till now.

In the fourth ODI between England and Australia, England required 228 runs to win the match and level the five ODI matches series. The first and the third ODI between the two teams was washed out by rain while the second ODI was won by Australia. The England team was in deep trouble in the beginning of their innings as the Australian bowler CJ McKay dismissed the top three batsman’s of England on the first three balls of the third over.
Kevin Pietersen got out lbw at the score of 5 runs, Jonathan Trott was caught by Aaron Finch at the second slip and Joe Root nicked the ball to Shane Watson in the first slip. McKay has now become the fifth Australian bowler to take a hat-trick in One Day Internationals but unfortunately Australia still was not able to seal the victory. The Australian bowlers who have taken a hat-trick in ODI match before McKay include Bruce Reid, Anthony Stuart, Brett Lee, Dan Christian and now Clint McKay is the new addition in the list.
England looked to be out of the game after losing its first three wicket on just 8 runs but then the opener Michael Carberry and Eion Morgan built a strong partnership of 104 runs to bring their team back in the match. At the end, England sealed the victory with the help of unbeaten 65 runs innings of JC Buttler.
