Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Pakistan cricket team squad against Australia tour to UAE Series 2012 players list details on Tuesday 17 July 2012. according to Pakistan squad for Australia series in UAE 2012 for 3 T20 and 3 ODI matches schedule Kamran Akmal, Imran Nazir, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Nasir Jamshed comeback in team after a long time. Specially Kamran Akmal who last played for Pakistan in the 2011 World Cup, was cleared by the PCB’s integrity committee earlier this month.
Batsman Imran Nazir, who last played for Pakistan in February 2010, & allrounder Abdul Razzaq have also made the squad for both tournaments. None of these players has a central contract.
“Each player in the side has a role & has been selected accordingly,” Iqbal Qasim, Pakistan’s chief selector. “Razzaq & Imran are utility players & can make a difference. Imran is a nice fielder, while Razzaq may even be useful as a seamer on Sri Lankan pitches & can score some fast runs.”
PCB sources said that opening batsman Ahmad Shahzad has been dropped.
Mohammad Hafeez, who was named Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain ahead of the just-concluded Sri Lanka tour, will continue to lead. According to the PCB release that announced the squad, Hafeez has been named captain ’till the finish of 2012′.
The players to miss out from the Twenty20 squad that played in Sri Lanka are Khalid Latif, Ahmed Shahzad, Hammad Azam, Haris Sohail & wicketkeeper Shakeel Ansar.
