Sehwag scored his half-century in just 41 balls as he slammed three fours and four sixes in his fiery knock, while Gambhir reached his fifty in 51 balls that included nine boundaries.
Gambhir and Sehwag brought up the Indian 100 in just 87 balls in the 15th over after Sehwag chose to bat in the fourth one-dayer against the West Indies.
India have replaced Umesh Yadav with debutant Rahul Sharma. The West Indies have brought in Kieran Powell in place of the injured Darren Bravo.
Sehwag knows well that his team needs to deliver the knockout punch in this game rather than leave the fate of the five-match series to the final game in Chennai.
