Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the Indian Cricket Team squad for the India’s tour of Zimbabwe, 2013. India will play 5 One Day Internationals (ODI) against Zimbabwe during this series. The series will start from 24th July and will end on 3rd August.
The Indian team will play these ODIs under the captaincy of Virat Kholi instead of MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni is out of the tournament due to his hamstring injury which he suffered during tri-series against West Indies in the first match. India will play its first three One Day’s at Harare and the last two at Bulawayo.
Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have rejoined the squad while Jaidev Unadkat, Mohit Sharma and Parvez Rasool are the new members of the squad. Off-spinner Parvez Rasool is the first ever player from Jammu & Kashmir state who will play for Indian National Team. In addition to MS Dhoni, R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also been given rest. Murli Vijay has also been dropped from the side and the other plaers including Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer who were dropped in earlier series have failed to make their comeback.
